Amethyst Chamber Ensemble presents Intimations of Mortality
Reflections on Life, Love, and Loss
Life is fleeting—but the music is to die for.
Join Amethyst Chamber Ensemble for an evening of hauntingly beautiful music exploring the poignancy, mystery, and transcendence of life—and its ultimate end. Featuring a vocal quintet, piano, and violin, Intimations of Mortality journeys through solos, duets, and chamber ensemble repertoire that moves from intimate reflection to moments of drama, darkness, and unexpected delight.
With music by Brahms, Verdi, Strauss, Copeland, Margaret Bonds and Saint-Saëns' thrilling Danse macabre, along with other musical gems, this evocative program reminds us that while none of us gets out alive, we might as well enjoy the journey.
Featuring Mary Sullivan & Molly Harmon, soprano; Jenna Guiggey, mezzo-soprano; Josh Witham & Jesse Meyers-Wakeman, tenor; Paul Jessen, bass and in partnership with pianist Christina Spurling, and violinist Katherine Liccardo.
